UK Parliament Launches Inquiry Into Crypto Banking Access Challenges on July 21

The UK Parliament's Crypto and Digital Assets All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) launched an inquiry on Tuesday (July 21) into banking access challenges facing the country's crypto sector. The APPG is examining difficulties crypto businesses face in opening and maintaining bank accounts and restrictions some UK banks have placed on crypto-related transactions. The group is inviting written evidence from the banking, payments, fintech and crypto sectors through August 31 and plans to publish findings and recommendations thereafter, coinciding with the UK's new crypto regulatory framework set to take effect on October 25, 2027.
