U.S. Data Centers to Account for 20% of National Electricity by 2035, Up from 5.9%

According to BloombergNEF, U.S. data centers are projected to account for approximately 20% of national electricity consumption by 2035, up from the current 5.9%, Bloomberg reported on July 21. The projection shows the share will reach 12% by 2030. In data center-concentrated regions such as Virginia and Texas, the proportion of electricity consumption attributable to data centers is expected to increase further.
