US Dollar Expected to Hold Steady Ahead of November Midterm Elections Amid Iran Conflict Risk

US-3.94%
According to Jayati Bharadwaj, head of foreign exchange strategy at TD Securities, the US dollar is likely to remain near current levels ahead of November midterms, given risks of a full-scale conflict between the US and Iran after the elections. Bharadwaj stated that a complete escalation of tensions before the midterms is unlikely. If escalation does occur, it would drive oil prices significantly higher, which she noted would be unfavorable for a sitting president during an election year.
