U.S. Sector ETFs Fall on July 23, Telecom Plunges 5.2% as Tech Slides 1.12%

On July 23, most U.S. industry sector ETFs declined, with consumer discretionary ETF down 4.61%, internet ETF down 2.56%, and semiconductor ETF down 1.15%. Among the S&P 500's 11 sectors, telecommunications sector led losses with a 5.2% decline, followed by consumer discretionary at 5.12%, while information technology fell 1.12%. Energy sector gained 0.56% and industrials advanced 1.77%.
