Australia's Inflation to Peak at 4.25% Mid-Year, Below Forecast: Treasurer Chalmers

According to Jin10, Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers forecasted on June 28 that inflation will peak around 4.25% mid-year, below prior expectations, as falling oil prices ease inflationary pressures.

Chalmers noted that declining oil costs and progress in Middle East peace negotiations are helping accelerate disinflation, though elevated inflation risks remain due to regional uncertainty. Core inflation is also making progress and is expected to be updated in mid-year fiscal forecasts.
