China Cancels Tax Incentives for Fuel-Efficient and New Energy Commercial Vehicles Starting January 1, 2027

On January 1, 2027, China's Ministry of Finance, State Taxation Administration, and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will cancel tax incentives for fuel-efficient vehicles and exemptions for pure electric commercial vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell commercial vehicles, according to an official statement released on July 3. Vehicle owners with newly acquired or previously obtained vehicles of these types will be subject to vehicle and vessel tax in accordance with applicable regulations.
