CLARITY Act Expands Self-Custody Protections, Retains Keep Your Coins Act on Wednesday

According to Bitcoin News, the final text of the CLARITY Act released on Wednesday (July 23) expanded protections for self-custody. The legislation retained the Keep Your Coins Act, safeguarding individuals' rights to hold and trade their own digital assets.

The act also introduced new provisions prohibiting legally self-custodied assets from being classified as abandoned, unclaimed, forfeitable, or subject to state escheatment solely due to non-active or dormant status.
