CNMV Confirms No MiCA License Extensions, Unauthorized Platforms Must Exit EU on June 26 Deadline

According to Spain's financial regulator CNMV, Chair Carlos San Basilio stated on June 26 that the agency will not grant any extensions or exemptions for crypto companies failing to obtain EU MiCA licenses by the end of June. Unauthorized platforms must comply with the deadline and exit EU markets accordingly. CNMV is maintaining close communication with unlicensed operators regarding their exit plans and customer asset transfer arrangements to protect investors. Investors trading on unauthorized platforms after the deadline will no longer be covered by MiCA protections.
