Deutsche Bank Pays A$2 Million Over 260,000+ OTC Reporting Errors, ASIC Says

According to ASIC, Deutsche Bank paid A$2 million on July 13 after failing to accurately report the "direction" field for over 264,000 over-the-counter derivatives transactions between October 21, 2024, and August 15, 2025. The errors involved foreign exchange and commodity derivatives across 208 business days. ASIC said the reporting failures reflected deficiencies in Deutsche Bank's internal controls rather than isolated mistakes and undermined the integrity of Australia's derivatives reporting regime. The bank cooperated with the regulator and has begun implementing remediation measures.
