Hollywood Director Carl Erik Rinsch Sentenced to 30 Months for Moving $11M Netflix Funds to Crypto

According to court filings, Carl Erik Rinsch, the director known for Keanu Reeves' 2013 film "47 Ronin," was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan. Rinsch fraudulently obtained $11 million from Netflix for a science fiction series but diverted the funds to cryptocurrency markets instead. The judge also ordered three years of supervised release and full restitution of $11 million to Netflix.
