India's ONGC Approves 1.75 Million Ton Strategic Crude Reserve Expansion

According to Jin10, India's ONGC board approved expanding the nation's strategic crude oil reserves by 1.75 million tons on July 10. The expansion will be built at Mangalore in Karnataka state and managed by the Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited. The project is considered of "national importance" and will be developed under direction of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Currently, India maintains 5.33 million tons of underground storage capacity across three coastal locations, with two additional sites under construction adding 6.5 million tons.
