According to Business Insider, Elon Musk recently endorsed Apple CEO Tim Cook's warning that the current memory chip shortage is "unprecedented," calling it the largest price increase he has witnessed in his career. Cook earlier this month described the supply crunch as a "once-in-a-century flood," noting he had not seen anything comparable in over 40 years. The shortage, driven by surging AI demand from cloud service providers and data centers, has forced multiple companies to raise prices. Apple announced increases of up to $300 on MacBook, iMac, iPad, HomePod, and Apple TV, while Microsoft Xbox raised prices by $100–$150 starting August 1.
