According to CNBC's David Faber, a group of state attorneys general led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta is expected to file a lawsuit as soon as Monday challenging the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger on antitrust grounds.

The U.S. Department of Justice approved the deal in June, but the European Commission continues its review with a new deadline set for July 22. Paramount CEO David Ellison previously stated the deal was on track to close by September.
