UK Designates Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as Illegal Organization on July 13

According to the British government on July 13, the UK submitted a legislative draft to parliament to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and two other organizations as illegal. Supporting or assisting the listed organizations is punishable by up to 14 years imprisonment, while directing destructive activities such as arson carries sentences up to life imprisonment. The draft will be reviewed by parliament later this week and will also reduce the evidentiary burden for prosecutors if approved.
