U.S. B-2 Stealth Bomber Successfully Launches LRASM Missile, Sinks Target Ship on June 29

According to the U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF), a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber successfully launched an AGM-158C Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) on June 29 during the Valiant Shield 2026 exercise in the western Pacific. The missile struck its target, the decommissioned landing ship USS Juno (LPD 10), in waters north of the Mariana Islands. PACAF stated that the B-2 demonstrated enhanced strategic capability to counter potential threats by deploying long-range anti-ship missiles. The combination of the radar-evading B-2 and the difficult-to-detect LRASM is assessed as a potent "fleet killer" capability.
