U.S. ICE Agent Shoots Man Dead During Deportation Operation in Maine on July 13

According to DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullin, an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agent shot and killed a man on July 13 during a deportation operation in Biddeford, Maine. The agent attempted to intercept a man who had received a final deportation order; when the man drove toward the agent, he was shot. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has taken over the investigation.

Local immigrant advocacy groups identified the deceased as a 26-year-old Colombian national who held a valid work permit and Social Security Number (SSN) in the United States.
