Anthropic Launches Life Sciences Hackathon, Offers $100K Prize Pool and Opens Claude Science to Developers

According to Anthropic's announcement, the company has launched Built with Claude: Life Sciences, a global online hackathon running July 7-13, 2026, in partnership with the Gladstone Institute and Cerebral Valley. The competition targets researchers, physicians, bioinformaticians, and biotech developers, with applications closing July 5. The event features two tracks: a laboratory track using Claude Science for biological research with real datasets provided by Gladstone, and a developer track using Claude Code to build software tools for research institutions. Anthropic will select 500 applicants, each receiving one month of Claude Max access and $200 in API credits. Winning teams will share $100,000 in prizes.
