CME Crypto Futures Surge 76% Year-over-Year in June, Hit $10.7 Billion in Notional Value

According to CME Group, crypto futures contracts on the exchange saw 76% year-over-year growth in June, with daily average volume reaching 334,000 contracts and notional value of approximately $10.7 billion. Micro Bitcoin futures contracts grew 46% year-over-year to 77,000 contracts daily. For the second quarter, crypto futures daily average volume reached 250,000 contracts, up 32% year-over-year with notional value of approximately $13.7 billion, while Ethereum futures contracts grew 10% to 18,000 contracts daily.
