France Orders ISPs to Block Polymarket Over Illegal Gambling Concerns on July 16

France's National Gambling Authority issued a blocking order against Polymarket on July 16, 2026, directing domestic internet service providers to prevent user access to the prediction-market platform over concerns about illegal gambling, consumer losses and market manipulation. The regulator publicly confirmed the measure one day later, describing Polymarket as an unauthorized gambling and betting service with a particularly large audience. The authority said the restriction would remain in place for as long as the platform remained noncompliant with French gambling regulations.
