QBZ Operator Lee and Three Others Acquitted of Political Fund Violation Charges on June 29

According to Seoul South District Court on June 29, Lee, the actual operator of Queen Bee Company (QBZ exchange operator), and three other defendants were acquitted of charges related to violating political fund laws. Judge Ko Seo-young ruled that the 100 million won in questioned funds could not be classified as political funds, and therefore the alleged crimes were not proven. The court determined that the funds were not clearly intended for political activities and found no evidence that the money was actually transferred to politicians, making them ineligible for punishment under political fund regulations. All four defendants were acquitted on both political fund violation charges and related fraud allegations.
