Spanish Regulator Confirms No Extension for July 1 EU Crypto Deadline as Binance Remains Unlicensed

According to Reuters, Spain's securities regulator said Friday there will be no extension to the EU's July 1 MiCA licensing deadline, as Binance remains unlicensed and faces potential operational shutdown in the bloc. Carlos San Basilio, chairman of Spain's National Securities Market Commission, stated there will be "no exceptions or extensions" to the deadline.

European customers will be unable to conduct transactions with unauthorized crypto service providers after July 1. Regulators are coordinating with unlicensed firms including Binance to ensure customer assets can be transferred to compliant providers if needed.
