Stablecoins Surge 2% in Brazil After Central Bank Issues VASP Authorization Notice

According to the Central Bank of Brazil, stablecoins surged 2% recently after the bank notified financial institutions that unauthorized foreign crypto purchases could constitute unregulated exchange operations. The notice created a temporary price premium, known as a 'Samba Premium,' disrupting local crypto arbitrage strategies. Diego Perez, vice-president of the Brazilian Association of Crypto Economy, clarified that no formal rules have been established yet and the notification was merely the bank's own interpretation of existing frameworks.
