Unitree Robotics Co-founder Predicts Embodied AI Robots Will Lead Consumer Wave by 2030

According to Gui Jian, Unitree Robotics co-founder Chen Li predicted on July 4 that embodied AI robots will lead a new consumer wave by 2030. He identified three core breakthroughs over the next two to five years: unified end-to-end robot foundation models, lower-cost hardware with longer lifespan at massive scale, and distributed computing solutions to address energy, heat dissipation, and latency challenges. Chen defined the embodied AI "GPT moment" by two 80% milestones: robots successfully completing approximately 80% of tasks in 80% of unfamiliar scenarios via voice or text commands.
