According to Coindesk, one year after the U.S. GENIUS Act took effect, USDT faces approximately two years to comply with new stablecoin regulations. The law requires stablecoin issuers to maintain full reserves primarily in cash and U.S. Treasury securities. Tether's latest reserve disclosure shows USDT still holds precious metals, lending assets, and Bitcoin that may not meet the new requirements, risking delisting from U.S. crypto exchanges if compliance is not achieved.
