SoftBank Begins Robot Mass Production, Plans to Acquire ABB Robotics Business by 2026

According to SoftBank chairman Masayoshi Son at the shareholder meeting on June 24, the company has begun mass production of robots for physical AI applications at a manufacturing facility and plans to formally launch the product soon. Son stated that SoftBank aims to become the "overwhelmingly number one robot company in the world" by acquiring leading robotics enterprises across verticals. The group plans to complete the acquisition of Swiss industrial giant ABB's robotics division in 2026.
